The Goal

VR's founding editor Ann Janda wanted a brand presence for her start-up online magazine that would resonate with women and be both professional and friendly. With several contributors and various ways for readers to participate in site activities, she needed varying levels of secure access. A non-technical person herself, Ann required a CMS that would be easy and efficient and allow her to manage her site with little outside assistance.

The Solution

IMD set out with a blank slate to create a fresh graphic image for Venus Rising. After investigating dozens of sites geared toward women and researching gender-related design principles, we developed a design incorporating a warm color palate and smooth curvilinear shapes. We incorporated a robust and flexible content management system which allows Ann to accomplish frequent site maintenance with maximum ease. Varying user access management allows for easy administration of multiple contributors. We continue to work with Ann as she works to increase site traffic and to implement new features for her growing online readership.
